Scientific and research work of the Academy

Science is a part of all-human culture in Ukraine. Scientific activity is regulated by the Law of Ukraine “On the scientific and scientific-technical activity” (2000). It is the base for purposeful policy of providing for home economic advances as well as world scientific and technological achievements to meet social, economic, cultural and other needs.

The law of Ukraine “On the higher education” (2002) implies that scientific and scientific-technical activity at the higher education institutions is an integral part of educational activity.

Science and education are acknowledged dominating at forming intellectual and productive society.

Foreground trends of scientific and technical development in Ukraine before 2017 and world standard priorities for home scientific innovations have been determined and approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

The major objectives of scientific schools at the Academy:

·    preserving, effective using, developing the scientific base of the institution in order to implement methods of diagnostics, prophylaxis and treatment into healthcare practice for improving health of people of Ukraine;

·    carrying out research work planning with expert assessment  and meeting demands of experimental medicine;

·    providing informative patent-licensed service for research;

·    developing inventive and rationalizing activity;

·    forming  innovative development of medicine;

·    training scientific and academic staff;

·    encouraging young talented Master’s degree graduates and post-graduate students to do scientific and scientific-teaching work.

Prior directions of scientific-research activity of the Academy correspond to healthcare demands in Ukraine:

Developing effective methods of prophylaxis and treatment of major cardio-vascular and cerebra-vascular systems diseases;

Developing methods of prophylaxis and treatment of mother, infant and child major diseases,

Developing methods of prophylaxis, diagnostics and correction of immune and generic disturbances at various pathologies,

Developing and implementing novice surgical treatment technologies into healthcare practice,

Developing effective methods of emergency medical care, surgical treatment of inner organs and skeletal system diseases,

Acute intestinal infections prophylaxis and treatment,

Developing new methods of cataract and progressive shortsightedness treatment,

Substantiating and developing new medicines,

Developing technology and methods of medicine quality control,

Environmental protection,

Prophylaxis and treatment of tuberculosis, HIV/Aids, skin-venereal diseases,

Complex programs on implementing family medicine into healthcare practice,

Scientific-informative activity and distance education,

Research work at the Academy is performed in accordance to the generalized plan of research activities for 2011. It includes scientific-research activities: that have budget investment, initiative and competitive, state contractual, dissertations.

1.  Epigenetic, genetic, biochemical and immune factors of balance regulation of mitosis, post mitotic hypertrophy and amitosis in the development of critical states, including sudden cardiac death. (Prof. K.N. Igrunova, Prof. I.S. Zozulia).

2.  Studying risk factors and developing prophylactic programmers for the most common diseases in general medical practice (Prof. G.I. Lysenko).

3.  Developing prophylactic measures, surgical and medicamentous treatment of post infarct ischemic cardiomyopathy for preventing mortality of working capacity of males (Prof. V.O. Bobrov).

4.  Developing and perfecting methods of functional rehabilitation of stomatological patients with partial and full dental loss (Prof. O.V. Pavlenko).

5.  Developing principles for the creation of unitary state system of information support in health care institutions. (Prof. O.P. Mintser).

6.  Research of factors of sterility and perinatal complications in patients with the parafunctions genesial with the purpose of improvement and development (optimizations) of standards diagnostics and treatment of this pathologies (Prof. V.V. Kamynskyj)

7.  Сliniсo-experimental introduction of method of the electrowelding of soft living tissues in the planned and emergent surgery (Prof. A.V. Makarov).

8.  Children have development of methods of the electrоwelding of biological tissue at the diseases of otorginolaryngological organs (Prof. A.L. Kosakovsky).

9.  Development of the system of exposure of persons of group high risk of origin of oncologic pathology is on the basis of application of molecular genetic technologies (Prof. N.G. Gorovenko, Prof. S.D. Myasoyedov).

10.  Estimation of metabolism of bone tissue and state of vascular river-bed for children with pathology of connecting tissue with development of methods of correction of found out violations (Prof. V.V. Berezhnoy).

11.  Development of criteria of prognostication of mushroom growth of HIV-infection for children on the basis of study, comparison of clinical features of illness and immunological changes of functional indexes of the immune system for determination of optimum terms of beginning of antiretrovirus therapy (Prof. L.I. Chernyshova).

12.  Children have diagnostics and surgical treatment of tumors of mediastinum (Prof. A.V. Makarov).

13.  Repeated cranial-cerebral trauma (clinic, diagnostics, treatment, prognostication) (Prof. N.Ye. Polischuk).

14.  Correcting diabetes mellitus by changing metabolism by transferring iliac gut (Prof. A.V. Makarov, S.E. Podpryatov).

15.  Studying the possibility of indices reduction of perinatal complications after the use of additional reproductive technologies (ART) by means of ART methods improvement, methods of preimplantation, medical and genetic prenatal diagnosis and algorithms of pregnancy management after ART (Prof. L.V. Suslikovа).

16.  Determining the system efficiency of neurophysiological rehabilitation in patients with organic deranged nervous system according to evidence based medicine. (Prof. V.I. Kozyavkin)

 

62 initiative and competitive research activities as well as 119 state contractual scientific-research work have been performed at the NMAPE named after P.L. Shupyk.

Scientific and research activities structure at the Academy is represented by works of various scheme financing: 51.8% under state contractual conditions; 9.8% state budget programs; 38.4% initiative and competitive (not financed).

Scientific staff training has been done according to the plan of writing dissertations. The generalized plan of writing dissertations for Doctor and Candidate of Medical Science Degrees includes 38 Doctorate’s and 225 Candidate’s dissertations. 9 Doctorate’s and 48 Candidate’s theses were defended in 2011. The results of scientific investigations have become the base of scientific and educational literature. In 2011 there were published 10 textbooks, 64 educational and educational-methodological manuals, 42 monographs, 19 reference books, 6 collections of scientific publications, 6 books on forum materials, 37 methodological guidelines, 37 information letters, 34 innovations, 1713 scientific papers at a state level and 160 ones at an international level; 757 reports at a state level and 371 at an international level were made, 112 declarative patents, 12 certificates on copyright registration were obtained.

The Academy co-workers organized and held 22 scientific forums. The NMAPE named after P.L. Shupyk is a founder of 22 journals. The scientific inventions of the Academy co-workers were displayed in 6 exhibitions.

-     Professor A.L. Kosakovskyi, Professor R.G. Semenov, Assistant A.I. Kosakivska and Assistant V.R. Semenov received a Golden medal of 6th International Salon of innovations and new technologies “New Time” (Novyi chas) for “Bipolar electric scalpel” invention (September, 22-24, 2011, Sevastopol);

-     Professor A.L. Kosakovskyi and Assistant A.I. Kosakivska were awarded a Prize from the Board of Ministers of AR Crimea for the best invention;

-     Assistant A.I. Kosakivska received a Gold medal of 6th International Salon of innovations and new technologies “New Time” (Novyi chas) for “Nose synechia treatment with bipolar electric device” invention (September, 22-24, 2011, Sevastopol);

-     Assistant A.I. Kosakivska received a Gold medal of 6th International Salon of innovations and new technologies “New Time” (Novyi chas) for “Chronic hypertrophic rhinitis treatment by means of electric welding of biological tissues” invention (September, 22-24, 2011, Sevastopol);

-     Professor I.S. Zozulya received a Gold medal in 6th International Salon of innovations and new technologies “New Time” (Novyi chas) (September, 22-24, 2011, Sevastopol);

-     Professor A.L. Kosakovskyi was awarded a special Prize from Taiwan Inventors Society for the development of high-frequency bipolar electric welding methods and bipolar electric devices;

-     Professor A.L. Kosakovskyi was awarded a Prize from the president of International Federation of Inventors Associations for the best invention “Bipolar electric scalpel”;

-      Assistant A.I. Kosakivska was awarded a Prize “Woman-inventor” (Zhinka-vynahidnyk);

-     Professor V.L. Kylinichenko received a Gold medal in 6th International Salon of innovations and new technologies “New Time” (Novyi chas) (September, 22-24, 2011, Sevastopol);

-     Professor V.L. Kylinichenko was awarded an Order for the contribution in education “Russian College of Arms” (the Russian Federation);

-     Professor Ivanov D.D.  was awarded a Diploma and a Gold medal in 6th International Salon of innovations and new technologies “New Time” (Novyi chas) for developments in nephrology (September, 22-24, 2011, Sevastopol);

-     Professor V.V. Krasnov and Assistant M.M. Zhyrok were awarded a Diploma for organization and conducting scientific and practical seminar “Industrialization of educational services within the exhibition INMED-2011”;

-     Professor O.P. Mincer, Assistant L.Yu. Babinceva, Professor V.V. Krasnov and Assistant S.V. Denysenko were awarded Diplomas as reporters of scientific and practical program of International scientific and practical medical forum.
