NMAPE named after P.L.Shupyk successfully collaborate with foreign partners, in particular: with Slovakian Medical University in introduction of the Bologna Declaration in postgraduate education, staff exchange is conducted; with Lublin Medical Academy and Nicolas Copernicus University (Poland) — in children otorhynolaryngology, neurootology; Yagelonsky University – in dentistry, otorhynolaryngology; Silesian Medical Academy — in children surgery; Illinois University (USA) – in public health and bioethics; Saint Petersburg State Medical University named after M.I.Pavlov and University Örëbro (Sweden) — in laboratory diagnostics; Schweitzer International Medical Academy (Poland); University of Bary (Italy) — in the framework of Intercollegiate Centre of Research and Cooperation of Eastern and South Eastern European States (CIRCEOS); with universities of Iowa and Alabama (USA); Byelorussian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education ; National Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (Iran); Zurich University (Switzerland), International Academy of Classical Homeopathy (Greece) etc.
It is a tradition at the Academy to award honorary titles (Doctor Honoris Causa and Professor Honoris Causa) to outstanding foreign scientists. The list of honorary doctors of the Academy includes Professor Theodore Helbrugge (Germany), Professor Albert Schitzel (Switzerland), horary professors – Nobel Prize Laureate George Vithoulkas (Greece), Professor Hubert Von Voss (Germany), Professor Ktibor Whaiss, Trevor Gibbs (Great Britain).
In 2003 the Academy was the first among medical higher institutions to become the collective member of International Personnel Academy. In 2002 the International School of Classical Homeopathy and the International Centre of Homeopathic Investigations were opened at the Academy.
The Academy act as a cofounder of Association “Medinformation science” represented in Canada, Vietnam, Germany, China and Bulgaria. In 2006 the Academy was registered in four the USA organizations: System of Industrial Classification (SIC), Data Unified System (DUNS), Сodified System of NATO (NATO CAGE) and Central Filing System. This benefit allows the Academy to act as recipient of grants from the Congress of the USA and the National American Health Institute.
More than 70 scientists of the Academy visit foreign countries annually. The visits are aimed at training at leading clinics of the West, experience exchange, establishing business contacts and negotiations, participation in congresses, symposia, exhibitions for holding of joint research etc. The list of the most frequently visited countries includes Germany, the USA, Poland, France, Switzerland, Austria etc.
The number of delegations visiting the Academy has increased to 30-50 per year. There has been an increase in the number of foreigners taking postgraduate training at departments of the Academy. It is a common practice to hold joint extension courses for physicians with participation of faculty members from the Western higher institutions, training tutors of NMAPE abroad, publishing joint monographs, entering international associations, holding joint research, spreading experience of our scientists, in particular, of the ophthalmology department, maxillofacial surgery, medical genetics departments not only in Asia and Africa but in developed countries of the West.
