Graduated from Kyiv Medical Institute (1925). Defended his Doctor's Dissertation "Intensification of Labor Activity by Means of Glucose and Calcium According to the Author's Method" (1946). Author of over 40 scientific works. Scientific direction - problems of perinatal mortality, mortinatality, prophylaxis and therapy of fetal intrauterine asphyxia. Disciples - Professors A.A. Andronik A. CHAYKA (1888-1968) - Honoured Worker of Science of Ukraine (1947), Doctor of Medicine (1914), Professor, Major-General of Medical Service, Head of the Department of Urology (1929-1941). Graduated from Military Medical Academy (1911)/ Defended his Doctor's Dissertation "Nephrotomy Technique. Experimental-Clinical Investigation" (1914). Disciple of Prof. S.P. Fedorov. Author of about 159 scientific works. Scientific direction - diseases of kidney and other organs of urinary excretory system, problems of purulent surgery. Developed an original nephrotomy technique and restoration of the urethra in case of its obliteration. One of the founders of Urology Scientific School in Ukraine. Disciples - Acad. A.F. Vozianov, Professors O.V. Proskura, B.L. Polonsky, Yu.G. Yedinyi. Participant of Russian-Japanese (1905), The First World (1914), The Great Patriotic Wars. Dmytro F. CHEBOTAREV (1908) - State Prize Winner of Ukraine (1984), Academician of the AMS of Russia (1966). Honoured Worker of Science of Ukraine (1964), Doctor of Medical Science (1953), Professor (1954), Head of the Departments of Therapy-1 (1955-1961), Gerontology and Geriatrics (1970-1972). Graduated from Kyiv Medical Institute (1933). Defended his Doctor's Dissertation "Hypertensive Syndrome in Pregnant Women" (1953). Disciple of Acad. M.D. Strazhesko. Author of over 300 scientific works including 8 monographs. CHUPRIKOV (1937) - Honoured Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine (1997), Doctor of Medical Science (1976), Professor (1986), Head of the Department of Psychiatry (till 1966 that of children's psychoneurology) (1992). Graduated from Dnepropetrovsk Medical Institute (1960). Defended his Doctor's Dissertation "Clinical Particularities of the Process, Immunobiological Reactivity and Asymmetry of Cerebral Lesion in Case of Epilepsy (1975). Disciple of Prof. S.F. Semenov (Moscow Research Institute of Psychiatry). Author of 255 scientific works including 4 monographs and 30 inventions. Scientific direction - lateral neuropsychiatry, lateral physiotherapy and immunobiological reactivity of psychiatric disorders. 3 Doctor's and 16 Candidate's Dissertations have been performed under his supervision. Director of Kyiv Research Institute of General and Forensic Psychiatry (1992).

SHALIMOV (1918) - Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (1978), Laureate of the USSR (1985) and Ukraine (1977) State Prizes, Honoured Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine (1967), Honoured Doctor of Russian Federation (1956). Graduated from Kuibyshev Medical Institute (1952). Defended his Doctor's Dissertation "Ionization of Atmosphere as a Prophylactic and Hygienic Factor in Ferrous Metallurgy". Disciple of Prof. A.A. Minkh. Author of over 200 scientific works. Scientific direction - study of influence of external environmental physical factors on the human body. The first to substantiate the prophylactic measures for protection of population from dangerous radiowaves' action. Decorated with the Orders of the Red Banner of Labour and October Revolution, Medals. Director of Kyiv Research Institute of General and Communal Hygiene named after Acad. O.M. Marzeev (1971-1990).

Ivan T. SHEVCHENKO (1905) - Honoured Worker of Science of Ukraine, Doctor of Medical Science (1951), Professor (1952), Head of the Department of Oncology (1952-1959, 1971-1975). Graduated from Kharkiv Medical Institute (1930). Defended his Doctor's Dissertation "Oesophageal Cancer and its Previous Diseases" (1950). Author of 258 scientific works. Scientific direction - development of genesis, diagnosis and treatment of precancerous diseases, problem of oncogenetics, search for new methods of diagnosis and rehabilitation of oncological patients. Platon L. SHUPYK (1907-1986) - Honoured Doctor of Ukraine, Candidate of Medical Science (1940), Professor (1968, without defending a Doctor's Thesis), Head of the Department of Social Hygiene and Public Health Organization (1965-1979), Professor-Consultant (1980-1981). Graduated from Kharkiv Medical Institute (1931). Defended his Candidate's Thesis "Diagnostic Value of Measurement of Resistance to Electric Current of Organs and Tissues" (1940). Disciple of Prof. V.N. Shamov and Acad. A.P. Krymov. Author of over 80 scientific works. Scientific direction - population health study, organization and administration of public health system. Prominent organizer of public health, twice held the position of Minister of Ukrainian Health Ministry (1952-1954, 1956-1969), was the first Deputy Minister of the USSR Health Ministry (1954-1956). Decorated with 2 Orders of Lenin, the Orders of the Red Banner of Labour, October Revolution, 3 Orders of the Badge of Honor, Medals. His name was given to Kyiv Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education (the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers from April 20, 1998, N 513).
Yuriy P. SHUPYK (1933) - Honoured Doctor of Ukraine (1998), Doctor of Medical Science (1986), Professor (1977), Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine (1987). Graduated from Kyiv Medical Institute (1957). Defended his Doctor's Thesis "Materials for Medico-Legal Expertise of Cadavers and Clothes Exposed to Considerable Flame" (1974). Disciple - Prof. A.M. Hamburg. Author of 75 scientific works including 1 monograph. Scientific direction - medico-legal traumatology. Borys P. YASCHENKO (1922-1989) - Honoured Worker of Science of Ukraine (1974), Doctor of Medical Science (1965), Professor (1966), Head of the Department of Phthisiology (1967-1989). Graduated from Donetsk Medical Institute (1952). Defended his Doctor's Thesis "Pulmonary Tuberculosis in Old and Elderly Patients" (1965). Author of over 150 scientific works including 10 monographs. Scientific direction - particularities of tuberculosis diagnostics and clinical picture in subjects of different age. 1 Doctor's and 19 Candidate's Dissertations were performed under his supervision.
