Teaching Staff:

Historical Information.

Depratment og Surgery and Vascular Surgery was founded in 2005 on the base of Kiev Municipal Clinical Hospital No.8. Department Head Professor Oleg E. Bobrov.

Teaching and Methodological Work:

There are following training courses in the department:

Pre-certification: in surgery (156 h).

Topical Advanced: “The basis of vascular surgery for general surgeons ” (156 h), “The basic laparoscopic surgery” (156 h), “Ambulatory surgery” (156 h), “Surgical Infection” (156 h)

Internship (3 year).

Scientific Research Activities:

Department members published more than 200 papers, 10 monograph and 10 Ukraine Patents.

Department make scientific research in following directions:

· Surgical infection

·  Pancreatology

·  Hernia Surgery

·  Phlebology (Veins Surgery)

·  Legal aspects of Surgery

·  Surgical Complications.

Clinical work:

There are three clinical bases:

- Kiev Municipal Clinical Hospital No.8 (3 surgical departments with 40, 50 and 40 beds). Special Department of Small Invasive Surgery and Phlebology.

- Medical Hospital “Kiyvmiskbud” (Surgery Department with 40 beds).

- Clinical Hospital”Меdicom” (Surgery Department with 10 beds).

International cooperation:

Department teach clinical ordinators (residents) from Georgia, Ecuador, Russia, Uzbekistan.

Department members take participation in international Internet projects Russian Surginet, Surginet.
