A department is founded in 1992 on the base of clinic of institute of cardio-vascular surgery of AMS Ukraine, director of which academician of AMS Ukraine the professor G.V. Knyshov led a department and manages by it to the present tense. Vykhovanok I.V., d.m., professor worked on a department (1992-1997); Gontarenko V.A., c.d.m., associate professor (1992-1998); Furkalo S.N., d.m, professor (1997-2000); Onischenko V.F., c.d.m., assistant (1999-2001).

Preparation of clinical interns and graduate students.

Scientific activity:

1. Diagnostics and surgical treatment of tumours of heart.

2. Electrophysiological and haemodynamic aspects of hypertrophy cardiomiopathy. Resichronizathions therapy of cardiac insufficiency.

International activity:

Agreements are made with the leading cardiac surgeries clinics of Poland, Germany, France and the USA about collaboration and exchange by experience.
