Surgical faculty includes 13
departments. Professorial-teaching staff of the faculty on the
average, numbers 92 teaching staff members and together with those
who hold more than one office — 115 teaching members. 43 Doctors of
Medical Science, 30 Professors, 64 Candidates of Medical Science, 8
staff member without scientific degrees work at the faculty. All
teaching staff members of the Departments of the faculty are highly
qualified specialists, educationalists, scientific workers, a
number of them are supernumerary head specialists at the Ministry
of Health of Ukraine. 3 associate members of the Academy of Medical
Sciences of Ukraine, 2 corresponding members of the National
Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, 1 academician of the Academy of
Medical Sciences of Ukraine, 2 academicians of the National Academy
of Sciences work at the faculty. Over 3500–4300
trainees-physicians, 250 interns, 45 clinical residents and 30
post-graduate students per year, on the average, are trained at the
departments of the faculty. In conformity with the Order of the
Ministry of Health of Ukraine №86 dated from 26.02.2003, 2 base
departments function at the faculty: Otorhinolaryngology, Surgery
and Transplantology.
