History Data The department of sporting medicine and sanology is founded in 1992. Creation of department was conditioned that in 1991 in Ukraine first in the world on initiative of prof. G. Apanasenko was ratified new medical speciality – sanology (medical section of valeology). In addition, the necessity of specialization and improvement of doctors which provide the sporting and health trainings appeared. Bases: Ukrainian and Kievan center of sporting medicine and Kievan center of health. Among teachers 2 professors, 2 candidates of sciences on positions of associate professors and 3 candidates of sciences on position of assistants. All of teachers have a higher qualifying category. A department developed the on-line tutorials of specialization, PAC, clinical studies and candidate's minimum on the proper disciplines. Teaching and Methodological Work: The following courses are conducted at the Department: Specialization: Sports Medicine, Sanology Pre-certification: Sports Medicine, Sanology Topical Advanced Training: “Children’s Sanology”, “Psychovaleology”, “Means of restoration and stimulations of s efficiency of sportsmen”; ”Selected issues in sanology”, “Morbid and premorbid conditions in sportsmen”. On the chair conduct preparation of clinical interns and post-graduate students. Training on self-supporting bases on all cycles is possible. Scientific Research Activities: Now a department develops the followings scientific directions: · Diagnostics, prognostication and management the health of man. This direction is formed professor G. Apanasenko, is basis of sanology as sciences. Theoretical principles of problem are expounded in the monographs of G. Apanasenko «Evolution power engineering biotspecialists and health of man» (1992) and «Medical valeology» (1998, in a coauthor with L. Popova) · Integrativnyy approach in a management a health basic principle of which is unmedicinal psychosomatic harmonization. This direction is headed by professor L. Popova. He is incarnate in a pedagogical process as cycles thematic improvement «Psychovaleology» and «Medicine of integration» (in a coauthor with associate professor L.Volgina). · Technologies of maintainance of health. This direction is presented the followings aspects: approaches orientation to a body and methods (associate professor N. Morozov, assistant Yu. Bushuyev), antihомоtoxicology (associate professor L. Volgina with coauthors), quality of life, water and health (professor G. Apanasenko), musicotherapy etc. · Theoretical and practical aspects of health of sportsmen (professor G. Apanasenko, assistant Yu. Chistyakova, assistant T. Kurtyan). · Problems of oxymortia for sportsmen (assistant Yu. Chistyakova). Materials of researches were given a report the employees of department on a number of international, national conventions and symposiums. On a department 3 doctoral and 12 candidate's dissertations are protected. Manager by a department – head of the problem commission Ministry of Health and Academy of medical sciences of Ukraine of "Sanology and valeology", member of editorial board two foreign and three Ukrainian scientific magazines, member of National Council of questions of health protection at President of Ukraine, academician of the European academy of natural sciences the name of Leybnica. Clinical work: Teachers of the Department conduct medical-advisory work on clinical bases of the Department - the Ukrainian and Kyiv Centres of Sports Medicine; besides, in the Ukrainian Centre of Health (since 1997 – the department of the Institute of Public Health), the Road Clinical Hospital No. 1 (Kyiv), the Diagnostic Clinic “Neutron” (Kyiv). Professor G.Apanasenko is included to the commission of experts on definition of health and the admission of sportsmen to participate in trainings and competitions. Professor G. Apanasenko and Assistant Professor M. Morozov are the members of Medical Board of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine. Professor L. Popova conducts advisory reception on issues of the psychological help to sportsmen and other categories of patients. Assistant Professors L. Volgina and M. Morozov, and also Assistant Yu. Bushuyev conduct consultation on questions of sports medicine and sanology. Assistant N. Chebanenko conducts consultation on questions of sanology. Since 1992, a specialized laboratory of vertebroneurology on the basis of the Kyiv City Medical-Sports Clinic (nowadays – Kyiv Centre of Sports Medicine) was opened, Assistant Professor M.
