Department of Sports Medicine and SanologyTeaching Staff:
History of department: Department of Sports Medicine and Sanology was founded in 1992. Creating of the department was due to the fact of approval of a new medical speciality – sanology (as medical section of valeology) – on the initiative of professor Gennady L. Apanasenko in 1991. In addition, there was a necessity of specialization and advanced training for doctors which provide sports and fitness training. Bases of the department: Kiev Center of Sports Medicine and Kiev City Health Center. Among the teachers – 2 Professors, 2 PhD as associate professors and 2 PhD as assistants. Teachers have a highest level of proficiency and, according to experience, first and second category. At the department are developed a curriculum specialization, pre-certification cycles, cycles of thematic improvement, program of internship, clinical studies and candidate minimum of relevant disciplines. Teaching work At the Department are held next courses: specialization (Sports Medicine, Sanology); pre-certification cycles (Sports Medicine, Sanology); cycles of thematic improvement ("Children Sanology”, “Psychovaleology”, “Facilities Restoration and Stimulation of Workability of Athletes", “Selected Issues of Sanology”, “Premorbid Pathological Conditions in Athletes”, “Sports Traumatology”, “Integrative Medicine: Antihomotoxic Therapy and Non-Pharmacological Psychosomatic Harmonization", "Art Therapy as a System of Psychosomatic Harmonization of Man". Interns, clinical residents and postgraduate students training is held (Sports Medicine). Research work In the first years of work criteria of sanology as a science, its theoretical and methodological foundations, conceptual apparatus were identified. Currently the department developes the following research areas: Ø diagnosis, prognosis and management of human health. This direction as basis of sanology as a science is formed by prof. Gennady L. Apanasenko. The theoretical principles of problem are outlined in the monographs: Apanasenko G.L. "Evolution of bioenergy and human health" (1992), "Medical valeology" (1998, co-author Popova L.A.), "The Book about Health" (2009); "Individual Health: Theory and Practice" (2011, co-author Popova L.A.) Ø integrative approach to the management of health, which is the basic principle of non-pharmacological psychosomatic harmonization. This division is headed by associate professor L.N. Volgina. It is embodied in the training process as a cycle of thematic improvement "Psychovaleology" and "Integrative Medicine". Ø technology of health preservation. This direction is submitted to the following aspects: approaches and methods of body-oriented therapy (associate professor Morozov N.V.), antihomotoxic therapy (associate professor Volgina L.N. with co-authors), quality of life, water and health (professor Gennady L. Apanasenko), art therapy, music therapy (assistant Natalia A. Savelyeva-Kulik) Ø theoretical and practical aspects of health of athletes (professor Gennady L. Apanasenko, associate professor Morozov N.V., assistant Tatiana V. Kurtyan). Materials of researches were reported on a numerous international, national conferences, congresses and symposia. 3 doctoral and 24 Ph.D. theses have been defended at the department. Head of the department is associate editor of two foreign and three Ukrainian scientific journals, Academician of Leibniz European Academy of Natural Sciences. Clinical work Medical and advisory work is provided by the teaching staff of the department at basic clinical sites – Kiev Center of Sports Medicine, Kiev City Health Center, moreover – Ukrainian Health Centre (since 1997 – Department of Institute of Public Health), sanatorium "Spa MISHOR valeological health resort”, clinical sanatorium "Zhovten’” “Ukrprofzdravnitsa”. Professor Gennady L. Apanasenko is admitted the main sanologist of Ministry of the health of Ukraine. Associate professor Nikita V. Morozov is a member of the medical commission of the NOC of Ukraine. Associate professor Lyudmila N. Volgina and Nikita V. Morozov, assistants Julia S. Chistyakova, Tatiana V. Kurtyan and Natalia A. Savelyeva-Kulik consult at the clinical bases of the cathedra as sports doctors and sanologists. Since 1992 at the basis of Kiev Center of Sports Medicine opened a special vertebroneurological cabinet headed by associate professor Nikita V. Morozov.
