Department of Children`s and Adolescents` DiseasesTeaching staff:
Background: The Department (Pediatrics № 3) founded in 1980 by the M.D., Professor Gudzenko J.P. From 1991 to 1992 the department was headed by the M.D., Professor Tebenchuk G. M., who restored the staffing of the department and its valuable work. From 1992 to 2008 the department was supervised by the M.D., Professor, Honored Doctor of Ukraine Kazak Svetlana (from 2002 – The Department of Children and Adolescents diseases). From 2008 to the present time the department is headed by the M.D., Professor Beketova G.V. – The Chief Therapist of Adolescents of the Ministry of Public Health of Ukraine. In different years at the department worked: the M.D., Professor Bezrukov L.A. – The Chief nephrologist of the Ministry of Public Health of Ukraine; M.D., Professor Bagdasarova I.V. – The chief hematologist of the Ministry of Public Health of Ukraine; M.D., Professor Bebeshko V.M.; M.D., Drozdova V.D.; M.D., Professor Tretyakov O.S.
The teaching methodical process: in pediatrics - 3 months and 5 months. PATS – "Pediatrics" - 1 month. TU – "Diseases of Children and Adolescents" - 1
month. Internship in Pediatrics - 1 month.
Research: Priority areas of researches of the department: The training of the Doctoral candidate, graduate students,
masters and seekers of the Department Display of the main directions of scientific work was presented in the form of monographs (4), guidelines (19), textbooks (6), books (4), and references (8). Employees have been trained more than 500 scientific articles in books and scientific journals. The Department participated in international scientific conferences, made over than 300 presentations at congresses, conferences, symposiums, including the international ones. Over the last two years, teachers of the department took part in scientific seminars within the framework of the National conception of the Ministry of Public Health of Ukraine about the continuous professional education of physicians (they read more than 60 lectures and workshops in all regions of Ukraine). On the initiative of staff of the department in 2010 with the support of the International Children's Fund UNICEF WHO, the Ministry of Public Health of Ukraine and NMAPE named after Shupyk P.L. on one of the clinical databases of the department was opened Clinic, youth-friendly. The Head of the Department is the main freelance professional of the Ministry of Public Health of Ukraine in "Adolescent Therapy." In the teaching staff is a national trainer and consultant of the International Children's Fund UNICEF, WHO. The department staff conducts monthly scientific and practical training seminars with doctors of different specialties for providing medical and social services to adolescents and youth through a friendly approach in clinics that is friendly to young people. classes in constant schools for children of permanent pediatric
gastroenterologists and pediatricians in Kyiv DTMO Podolsk district
of Kyiv. Supported by the Ministry of Public Health of Ukraine and management of the NMAPE named after Shupyk P.L. 28.09.2010 the employees of the Department, was held the first National Scientific Conference with elements of distance learning "Actual questions respiratory disease in children", which was attended more than 1 600 paediatricians, adolescent physicians and family doctors. To the scientific research are involved and house surgeons, and medical interns in "Pediatrics" that develop the individual researches according to priority areas of researches of the department.
Clinical work: The main clinical base is the Children's Clinical Hospital № 9 that situated in Podolsk district of Kyiv. The hospital with in-patients of the Children's Clinical Hospital № 9 in Kyiv is designed for 200 beds and has 8 offices: reception, boxed, diagnostic, rehabilitation and 5 units for patient treatment: Branch I - infection for young children from 1 month to 3 years
to 30 beds; Children's Clinical Hospital № 9 works as a specialized institution Consultative urban clinical gastroenterological profile too. The structure of the Children's Clinical Hospital № 9 includes 4 outpatient departments: for the 480, 320, 320 and 500 visits per day respectively. On the base of hospital works urban children's Gastroenterological Advice Centre and the city center for prevention and treatment diseases of oral mucosa and periodontal. On the initiative of the Department and support of the international children's fund UNICEF, the Ministry of Public Health of Ukraine and NMAPE named after Shupyk P.L. in 2010 based on Children's Clinical Hospital № 9 there is works the “youth-friendly clinic”. According to instructions of the Health administration in Kyiv the Children's Clinical Hospital № 9 is the baseline hospital as “Patrol station of epidemic control during the flu epidemic”. At last year on base were introduced new ultrasound machine, pulse oximeter is used to diagnose severity of respiratory insufficiency. In recent years were introduced rapid diagnostic tests for antigenic Influenza A and B. According to indications available rapid diagnostic test for diagnosis of influenza A antigenic H1N1. Over the last year introduced a mathematical model predicting the development of chelicobacterial infection in children (information relevance biomedical and socio-hygienic factors). In medical and educational activities are used as additional clinical training base. This is a lot of profile Kyiv Regional Clinical Hospital in Boyarka, which extended the agreement on cooperation from 01.01.2010 till 01.01.2016, the Hospital computes 400 beds and has the following specialized departments: cardiorheumatological of immunological - 40 beds; pulmonological - 20 beds, including allergic - 10; for young children - 30 beds, neurological - 40 beds, endocrinology - 40 beds, gastroenterological -10 beds , infectious - 33 beds, surgical - 55 beds, including urological - 15 ; neonatology - 20 beds, intensive care - 12 beds, Nephrology -20 beds, ENT-40 beds. On the basis of the Kyiv Regional Children's Hospital works neonatology team and mobile diagnostic clinic consultation. In December 2009 compiled and entered into the force on 01.01.2010 the agreement about cooperation between the State establishment "Institute for Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine" (Department of diseases of liver and digestive system - head M.D., Professor Denisova M.F., department of medical problems of a healthy child and premorbid conditions - head M.D., Professor Kvashnina L.V., department of Neonatology - head M.D., Professor, Honoured doctor of Ukraine Znamenskaya T . K.) and NMAPE named after P.L. Shupyk (The Department of Children and Adolescents diseases). The above heads of departments are part-time employees of the department of children's and teen diseases of the NMAPE named after P.L. Shupyk. With a private joint stock company "Medical Center "Dobrobut" was signed a cooperation agreement from 07.01.2010 to 01.07 2015. The center has a polyclinic department capacity of 180-200 visits per day, inpatient department for 16 beds, equipped with modern diagnostic and medical equipment. The head of the department, professors and docents advice patients that are treated in hospital № 9, multidisciplinary Kyiv Regional Clinical Hospital in Boyarka, DM IPOG, branches of "Dobrobut". In all these health care treatment and consultation work carried out according to schedules that have been agreed with the administration of hospitals and emergency needs. Medical and educational process is carried out using the new forms, methods and achievements of medical science with the introduction of the practice of health care. Every month in the hospital № 9, conducting optional lectures to physicians on current issues in pediatrics permanent school pediatrician. Total read 10 elective lectures in the hospital № 9 under a composite together schedule for 2011. The department actively participates in local, regional and Ukrainian Association of Pediatricians, the Ukrainian Association of Neonatologists, Ukrainian Association of Children's Gastroenterology and Nutritionology, Ukrainian, European and World Association pancreatology. Assistant constantly supervises patients in outpatient and inpatient departments. There were 32 employees of the basic clinical medical institutions that had took postgraduate training, retraining and advanced training at the department. The department is introducing new methods of treatment at the branches. The department provides research, development and expert evaluation of effective methods of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients, testing and implementation in practice of medications, medical instruments and equipment (Bioptron and ultrasound). The department will organize and participate in seminars, clinical, scientific and practical conferences, expert committees, consultation medical advices and measures to control the quality of treatment and diagnostic process. The head of the Department Professor Beketova G.V. together with a group of leading experts of Ukraine according to the order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine participated in the implementation of the national project for continuing education pediatricians in different regions of the country (read 17 lectures and workshops). In all health care settings, which are the clinical databases, department staff regularly conduct peer review medical records, review of medical records and maps of ambulatory monitoring of deaths of children.
