Department of Pediatrics No. 1Professor-teaching composition
Historical help: In October 17, 1918 in Kiev Clinical institute of perfection of the doctors were based first in Ukraine, two pediatric departments were organized : department of protection of childhood under the guidance of the professor Е.L.Sclovsky and department of illnesses of children of high age under guidance of A.Z.Lazarev . In 1930 both departments jointed in department of children's illnesses, which in the future became department of a pediatrics № 1 Kiev medical academy post graduate education . From 1930 till 1951 the department was headed by the professor A.Z.Lazarev - honoured scientist of USSR, brilliant lecturer and teacher, a writer of the monography on a tuberculosis in children first in Ukraine. In the first days of Great Patriotic War the teachers of department were mobilised in army in the fields, worked in military hospitals. The rebirth the department had marked in March, 1944. The work was restored at pre-war base of institute - children's specialised hospital "OHMATDET", it is the clinical base of department until nowdays. Since 1951 till 1972 the department was headed by the docent D.L.Sigalov - one of the founders Ukrainian pediatrics school. Immortalising light memory of D.L.Sigalov, in February, 1998 on a building of clinic, where he worked during 60-s years, was opened the memorial board. Since 1972 till 1987 department was headed by the professor M.V.Bondar, which was prolonging traditions of clinical school D.L.Sigalov and also became one of the founders of scientific school of a neonatology in Ukraine. Since 1987 till 2006 the department was headed by honoured scientist and technique of Ukraine, doctor of medical sciences, professor Lasytsya O.L. - pupil of scientific school of the term – corresponding member of AMS of USSR prof. Hohol O.M. and corresponding member of AMS of USSR and Ukraines prof. Sidelnicov V.M.. Since 2006 the department is headed by doctor of medical sciences, professor Окhotnikova Elena Nikolaevna - prolonging traditions of clinical school of prof. M.V.Bondar and prof. O.L. Lasytsya. Basing in pediatric compartments of children's specialised hospital "OHMATDET", the department realized major consulting and organizational medical care in Ukraine and city Kiev. The scientific interests of department are a children's allergology and children's pulmonology. Now in department there are 7 teachers, among which professor 4 docents and 2 assistants. In the department there are many clinical interns and post-graduated students, both native and foreign. Today the department is on creative upraise, inserting the newest technologies in the medical-diagnostic and pedagogical process.
Educational-methodical process: In department the cycles are realised: Specialisation’s: in pediatrics - 3 months for the graduates of pediatric faculties, 5 months for the graduates of no pediatric faculties in children allergology – 2 months for the graduates of pediatric faculties, 1 months for allergolodgists - therapoits Preattestation: in pediatric (1 months) in children allergology (1 months) Probation: in pediatric (1 months) in children allergology (1 months) Thematic perfection: " Actual questions in Pediatricion" (1 months) " Pediatric allergology" (1 months) " Allergic questions in Pediatricion" (0,5 months) Interns in a speciality "pediatric ": the 1-st year of graduate (6 months) the 2-nd year of graduate (4 months) Possible training on self-supporting bases on cycles of a specialisation in a pediatrics for the graduates of pediatric faculties (3 months) and no pediatric faculties (5 months), specialisation in a children's allergology, internatory, and also in thematic cycles. The preparation clinical internes and post-graduate students are realized for the citizens of Ukraine, as free-of-charge (on competition), and on a self-supporting basis; the foreign subjects - only on a self-supporting basis.
Scientific work: Main scientific problems, which solving by collective of department, are the problems of a children's allergology and pulmonology. Today the department fulfils scientific research work on a subject: " Perfection of diagnostics, treatment and prophylaxes of a bronchial asthma for children of groups of hazard ". By results of fulfils scientific research work during of 5 years 178 printed works in different periodicals were published, 105 reports on scientific forums, of 105 reports were made on scientific forums among them: 19 international , 9 of state. Two Ukrainian patents were received, 2 monographies, 5 methodical recommendations were published. 4 candidate and 1 doctor thesises were defended, 3 doctor and 1 candidate thesises are realizing. The department is a base of Pharmacological committee of Ukraine, on which 2-3 multicenteric international researches of clinical efficiency and safety of medicines.
Medical work: The traditional clinical base of department is the Ukrainian children's specialised hospital "OHMATDET" – polyprofil scientific - medical establishment, there are on 600 beds on 17-th profiles, consulting polyclinic, padding paraclinic departments : surgical departments - 270 beds, departments of the therapeutic profile - 275 beds (somatic, hematological, endocrinological, psychoneurological, infectious department), neonatological center - (55 beds) are included. On the basis of hospital the Ukrainian center of a toxicology and detoxication, urban center teenage gynecology works. All employees of the department take active part in the medicinal-diagnostic process in clinical base (keep wards of patients, permanently realize the consulting help in pediatric departments, infectional-boxes, endocrinological, organise of modern technologies in practice, attract and encourages the employees of hospital to the scientific- research work. The employes fulfill the analysis and expert appraise of medical documentation, partisipate in the work medical-control commission and patalogoanatomical conferences. The guidance of hospital listens to opinion of the chief and employees of department attentively concerning a perspectives of organization of work of base establishment. Besides the employees of department realise major consulting work in the hospitals of Kiev and republic (sanitary aviation).
International work: The employees of department cooperate with a department of the international relations of Kiev medical academy post graduate education , training the foreign subjects in clinical internatory and post graduate course ( 2-4men per one year). In the department the multicenteric scientific researches by the ordering of research and development and pharmaceutical corporations are taken place. There are common publications on the base of researches. The head of the department and the employees take an active part in the work of annual congresses EAACI, ERS and other international congresses.
