History Data:
Faculty of a neonatology has based in 1977 by first in Ukraine, second in former Soviet Union in connection with development of a neonatology as sciences and practice in all economically advanced countries of the world, necessity of development and introduction of modern methods of a medical care neonatal and postgraduate of education of the doctors to questions of physiology, pathology and intensive care neonatal.
During 1977-1996 faculty headed the founder of a neonatology in Ukraine the doctor of medical sciences, main neonatology of Ukraine in the term 1977-1992, deserved doctor of Ukraine the professor Katonina S.P. Since 1996 the faculty is managed by the doctor of medical sciences, professor Shunko E.E. (schoolgirl of the professor Katonina S.P.)
The faculty of a neonatology is basic faculty of the central methodical study of maximum medical education at Ukraine.
Teaching and Methodological Work:
The basic tasks of faculty:
postgraduate preparation of the doctors neonatologer on cycles of specialization, certification cycles and cycles of thematic improvement
postgraduate preparation of the pediatrists on physiology and pathology neonatal
Building of the educational plans and programs for cycles of thematic improvement, certification of cycles on a neonatology
Development qestions of the programs of the computer test control on a neonatology for cycles of specialization on a neonatology
The treat-advisory help by neonatal. Kiev, range, Ukraine
Performance of scientific researches on perynatal and neonatal of a pathology and her prophylaxis
Development and introduction new perynatal of technologies of an intensive care, care neonatal with perynatal pathology
Development and introduction of new methods of treatment and prophylaxis of a pathology neonatal, care of premature children
On faculty the cycles will be carried spent:
specialization in a neonatology (3 month),
certification a cycle on a neonatology (1 month)
cycles of thematic improvement: “ Urgent states and intensive care neonatal”, “Artificial ventilation mild at neonatal”, “Physiology perynatal a pathology and urgent medical care neonatal early neonatal of the term”, “A Urgent medical care neonatal with infringements of кардио-respiratory acclimatization”
The education on a self-supporting basis is possible:
On a contract basis the faculty will carry out preparation of the doctors in postgraduate course on a speciality “Neonatology”, will carry out cycles of specialization by the individual plan.
Preparation clinical student and post-graduate students:
On faculty 2 clinical student are trained
Scientific Research Activities:
On faculty 4 doctor's dissertations are protected: Katonina Svetlana Petrivna – 1987, Sulima Olena Grigoryivna – 1990, Shunko Elizaveta Evgenyivna – 1996, Pyasetska Nataliya Mihaylivna - 2001.
The candidate dissertations -12 are protected, 5 candidate dissertations are carried out 1 doctor's dissertation.
On faculty the scientific researches on the following directions will be carried out :
- “ Organization care, development of new methods of treatment and prophylaxis of diseases at preterm children ”
- Development and introduction of modern methods of prophylaxis and treatment of anemia neonatal
- “ Prophylaxis perynatal and nozocomial of infection contaminations at neonatal children. Modern methods of diagnostics, treatment, prophylaxis ”
Since 2000 the research work “ Development and perfection of methods of clinical diagnostics, intensive care and care neonatal, prophylaxis peri- and neonatal of a pathology ” is carried out
From the moment of existence of faculty (with 1977) and till now is published:
More 400 scientific works, among which about 200 scientific clauses
Clinical work:
From the date of formation of faculty clinical base is the Ukrainian children's specialized hospital “OHMATDIT”. Since 1996 the second clinical base of faculty became a maternity home of №7 m. Kiev. Since 2001 one more clinical base of faculty became neonatal center of a hospital №1 Kiev.
International activities:
The faculty works under the international programs
- primary reanimation neonatal (international cooperation with the American alliance of development)
- Breast feeding neonatal and introduction of the initiative “ Hospital friendly to the child ” (international cooperation with children's fund UNISEF)
