Department of Children`s SurgeryTeaching Staff:
History Data: In 1981, the Department of Pediatric Surgery (the only one in Ukraine) was created at the Kyiv Institute for advanced training of Physicians (Reactor V.M.Gyrin) on the base of the Institute of Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecelogy (Director - Academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences O.H.Lukianova). The first Head of the Department was D.Yu.Kryvchenya, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor. Since 1993 Professor O.O.Danylov has been headed the Department. Assistant Professors Yu.Yu. Almashiy and assistant A.H. Dubrovin worked at the Department as well. Since 2000 the Department has been the leading one for advanced training of specialists on "Pediatric surgery". Teaching and Methodological Work: The following courses are conducted at the Department: Specialization: in pediatric surgery Pre-certification: Training in pediatric surgery Thematic improvement: “Actual questions of pediatric surgery”, “Exigent states in pediatric surgery”, “Proctology pediatric age”, “Laparoscopic surgery in pediatric practice”, “Surgical aspects of andrology pediatric age” From 2006 year a department plans to conduct the following cycles of thematic improvement: “Surgical aspects of andrology pediatric age”, “Proctology pediatric age”, “Complication in urgent pediatric surgery”, “Policlinic pediatric surgery”, “Surgical infection in children”, “Surgical and restoration treatment of children with the CNS defeats”. Resident: on speciality pediatric surgery. Preparation of clinical interns and graduate students. Scientific Research Activities: The Department is carrying out research on the subject: "Surgical Aspects of Reparative regeneration of Organs and Tissues in Children with Chronic Pathology".
