History Data:

In 1918 the Kyiv institute of advanced training of the doctors was founded. One of first in 1922 open faculty of surgery, which was headed by the known surgeon-oncology the professor G.B.Bihovski (1861-1936). On the basis of the Kyiv regional hospital since 1937 the faculty of surgery was supervised by the senior lecturer М.I.Kolomijchenko. In 1941 all collective of faculty has gone on front. In 1944 the professor B.E.Pankratjiev headed the faculty of syrgery-2. The professor B.E.Pankratjiev in 1946 has organized complex scientific expedition on learning to an endemic strum in Zakarpatje. On his sentence in 1947 in Ukraine for the first time in scales of the Soviet Union the production by a factory way jodirovanic and cooking salt for jodic of prophylaxis among children of school and preschool age was adjusted. It has helped to troubleshoot strum of epidemic in Ukraine. The professor B.E.Pankratjiev for the first time in USSR has inserted an ampullary hemotransfusion, for the first time in Ukraine has entered into clinical practice an endotracheal gas narcosis. By one of the first surgeons in Kyiv the professor B.E.Pankratjiev of the beginnings to conduct operations at purulent-inflammatory diseases mild and pleura. With 1953-1975 the faculty syrgery-2 has received the broadest recognition due to its principal to the professor I.I.Kalchenko (1904-1975). In 1944-1957 years the professor Kalchenko was the director of the Kyiv institute of advanced training of the doctors. Since 1955 the professor I.I.Kalchenko edited a magazine "New surgical archive", which in 1962 has received the new title "Clinical surgery". The circle of scientific and practical interests of the professor I.I.Kalchenko was extremely wide-original methods treatment of damages of peripheral nerves, idea of economical resections of a stomach at pyloroduodenal of ulcers and individual approach to surgical treatment gastroduodenal of ulcers, original techniques of operations at an achalasia of an esophagus, at blockade biliary ducts. The large contribution of the professor I.I.Kalchenko in problems of corrosive burns of an esophagus and stomach, diseases of a pancreas, thyroid gland, anesthesia, folding and hemotransfusion. Since April, 1989 the faculty syrgery-2 is supervised by the professor V.I. Mamchich  schoolboy of the known surgeon of the professor D.F.Skripnichenko. The high authority of faculty syrgery-2 is once again reconfirmed by active organization and conducting annual is scientific - practical of conferences on base КМАПE by P.L.Shupik and Kyiv regional hospital. In 1992 the conference devoted 70-years of faculty was conducted. In 1994 was held the conference "Clinic, diagnostics and treatment of diseases of thymus glands" is scientific - practical. In 1995 "Surgical treatment recidiv of gastroduodenal of ulcers and their complications", in 1996 "Diagnostics and surgical treatment of diseases and damages biliary ducts". November 20-21, 1997 in the Kyiv regional hospital was held the conference "Urgent problems in surgery" with involvement 400 representatives of Ukraine, Russia, Poland is scientific - practical. By November 4-6, 1998 by faculty is conducted VI International Congresses of the surgeons-hepatologists of Russia and countries of CIS. In September 1999-2000 yr. A congress of the hepatologists of Ukraine. In 2001 the anniversary conference devoted 80-years prof. D.F.Skripnichenko is conducted. In 2002 the anniversary conference devoted 80-years of faculty to surgery is conducted. >

Scientific activity:

In 1998 professor V.I. Mamchich is elected by the president of Association of the surgeons-hepatologists of Ukraine. On faculty is issued since 2000 new quarterly the magazine «Surgery of Ukraine» (main editor  professor V.I. Mamchich), annually on faculty the conferences, congresses, workshops are conducted. On faculty the subjects of candidate thesis’s «Pathogenesis aspects of purulent complications acute destructive pancreatic and rational methods of their prophylaxis and treatments», «Optimization of methods of diagnostics and surgical treatment chronic recidiv pararectal of fistulas», «Mini-invasion of the technology in treatment ill with unparasitogenic cysts and abscess of a liver», «Diagnostics and surgical treatment of the cliniko-morphological forms generalization of a myasthenia» are developed. On faculty the subject of a doctoral thesis «Polyorganic insufficiency is developed at a surgical pathology of bodies hepatopancreatoduodenal of a zone and cell therapy in complex treatment».

 The medical works:

Base is posed in territory of surgical separation (30 surgical places, 30 proctologic places, 20 endocrinology place), department of thoracic surgery (20 places), department of vascular surgery (50 places) Kyiv regional hospital. 15 places are allocated for mini-invasion of laparo  and thoracoscopic of operations. The employees of faculty carry on consulting trick in polyclinic Kyiv regional clinical hospital take involvement in scheduled and emergency departures on the Kyiv area.

International activity:

The Employees of faculty take involvement in world and international conferences, workshops, Congresses (Germain, 1997; Spain, France, 1998; Hungary, 1999; Australia, 2000; Holland, Belgium, Cyprus, 2001; USA, 2001, 2003).
