The department of international relations and scientific-pedagogical work with foreigners (The Department) is a structural subdivision of the Academy, it was established in March, 1993 and since that time, it has been working on a complete inner self-supporting basis.

The Department functions according to the basic directions elaborated according to the type of the Academy.

The main purpose of the Department activity is to elaborate and implement international educational, scientific, medical and humanitarian programs on self-supporting basis.

Tasks of the Department
  1. Popularizing the Academy scientific, pedagogical and medical activities among potential foreign partners.

  2. Organizing and holding negotiations with foreign partners concerning matters of mutual interest.

  3. Organizing international meetings, seminars and conferences.

  4. Organizing training for foreigners at the Academy departments and the preparatory department.

  5. Implementing international programmes and grants.

Organizational structure of the Department

The structure of the Department is formed in accordance with its purpose and tasks.

The legal basis of the Department’s activity is the Statement of the Department and contracts concluded directly with foreigners (or legal entities representing interests of the citizens) who would like to study at the Academy and also contracts on other kinds of self-supporting activities which comply with the purposes and tasks of the Department.

The Department consists of the preparatory department, the department of contractual post-graduate training, the department of marketing.

The training of foreign citizens is realized at the sub-faculties of the Academy and at the preparatory department.

Department of contractual post-graduate training

The main direction of the department’s activites is to organize the improvement of foreign doctors and pharmaceutists professional skills at the sub-faculties of the Academy.

Post-graduate training of doctors and pharmaceutists from 54 countries of the world is realized in accordance with the license of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in all specialities at internship, clinical residency, specialization courses, topical refresher courses, pre-certification courses, trainership. The training of scientific personnel is carried out in a post-graduate and doctorate studies.

P.L.Shupyk NMAPE is the first to be a collective member of International Personnel Academy among other medical higher establishments in Ukraine and therefore, it is possible to nostrificate internship, clinical residency, post-graduate study diplomas and certificates; to confer the degree of Ph.D. in medicine to Candidates of Medical Science, the status of Associate Professor to Assistant Professor, of Professor to Doctors of Science.

Preparatory department

The main purpose of the preparatory department is to train foreign post-graduate medical students and clinical interns in language.

The training process is conducted in accordance with the programs of the Ministry of Education and Science.

The training process is conducted by the specialists whose length of work is over 15 years, and who have written textbooks, methodic manuals, Russian – Ukrainian – Arabic, Russian – Ukrainian – Persian and Russian – Ukrainian – Arabic – Persian dictionaries.

Teachers of language training course pay much attention to the development of students’ knowledge on the matters of history and culture of Ukraine. To achieve this purpose, students are provided with education materials, with excursions about the city; they visit museums and historical places.

Marketing department

The Academy officials participate in organizing and conducting international meetings with the Academy taking part, in receiving delegations, they also register and analyze foreign business trips and further their official legalization, sign and realize agreements with foreign partners.

Every year the Academy is visited by more than 30 foreign delegations.

The Academy cooperates successfully with scientific institutions of a lot of countries of the world (USA, Germany, Canada, Great Britain, Greece, Poland, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Slovakia, France, Sweden, Russian Federation, Belarus).

The Academy regularly holds conferences, symposia, seminars, including foreign participation.

The scientists of the Academy often visit scientific centers of Western countries. The majority of the trips is to participate in international congresses, symposia, seminars. A great number of scientists have been abroad with the aim to work on probation, to adopt methods, to take part in exhibitions, to carry out scientific investigations.

The Academy traditional ceremony is to award honorary titles of the Academy to foreign partners. Honorary professors and Doctors of Philosophy of the Academy are the famous scientists from Germany, Switzerland, Greece, Austria.
